MORTAL FACTOR - No Lessons Need Learning

Mortal Factor haben sich in der Schweiz durch unzählige Konzerte in den letzten zehn Jahren seit ihrer Gründung einen Namen gemacht - mit „No Lessons Need Learning“ bringen die Luzerner nun endlich ihre erste Full Length-CD via Non Stop Music raus. „Simple music for simple people“ ist das Credo des Trios - und da waren’s nur noch drei, nachdem Sänger Amadé im Frühling diesen Jahres seinen Austritt gegeben hatte. Das Credo ist Programm: fetter, groovender Sound, schlicht gebaute Songs und Ohrwurm-Refrains, so gestaltet sich die „No Lessons Need Learning“. Mortal Factor sind einfach in erster Linie eine Live-Band, die Songs sind live sicherlich Kracher und animieren jeden halbwegs begeisterungsfähigen Metaller mit Sicherheit zum headbangen und mitgrooven, auf CD haben sie aber ihre Längen. Man bewegt sich vorwiegend im Mid-Tempo-Bereich und baut auf eher simple Riffs, es werden kaum Experimente gemacht, mit einigen wenigen, leider nicht sehr gelungenen Ausnahmen, z.B. bei „Knives vs Guns“. Alles in allem macht das Album wirklich Spass, ihr Ziel erreichen Mortal Factor und man versucht nicht mehr zu sein, als man ist. Reinhören lohnt sich auf jeden Fall, noch mehr lohnt es sich aber, Mortal Factor live zu gucken.
